PEACC have been informed by Councillor Semra Batik (Auburn Council) that the Turkish Community in NSW has already raised and donated nearly $250,000 for earthquake relief.
Clr Batik said that Auburn Mosque had raised and donated $170,000 and were still continuing to raise further funds for the victims of Pakistan Earthquake.
Turkish service on SBS Radio collected over $68,000 through its appeal for earthquake relief.
Turkish Sport Federation (NSW) donated $9,000 through community fundraising.
Clr Batik said Turkish community was very united in its efforts to raise funds for the victims of Pakistan earthquake.
